About Hot Wobble
Hot Wobble is the experimental electronic side of the classically trained double bassist Emilio Guarino.
Emilio spent the better part of a decade studying with Robert Black of The Bang On A Can All-Stars and jazz musician Mike Richmond (a former student of John Coltrane bassist Jimmy Garrison), then found himself bouncing between freelance work in New York City and Switzerland to perform with the forward thinking Lucerne Festival Academy Orchestra.
Most casual listeners wouldn't connect the sounds of Warp Records with the sounds of the symphony, but that's exactly what Emilio is hearing. He draws on the orchestral and jazz traditions as much as his appetite for glitches, pops, bleeps, and drops to make music that sits somewhere in the middle of contemporary IDM, Future Bass, and Hip-Hop.
