About The 'Q'
Matranga (Bass, Vocals):
After a 7 year period of fumbling with the trumpet and the guitar the bass was found and the fun began. Self taught with a few semesters of formal training at The Westchester Conservatory of Music and performing with various garage and bar bands for 35 years both in Arizona and New York including; 'Private Illusions', The 'Surf Bombs', 'Booze Mop', The 'Oreo Cookie Band', The 'Desert Rock Band' and The 'Q' Michael has honed his singing/playing and fronting capabilities into a tight, highly energized and entertaining style that is hard to take your eyes off of. Growing up in New York and being exposed to a myriad of playing styles and genres have all combined to influence an almost uncontainable and explosive performance style.

Deacon (Guitar, Vocals):
David “Deacon” Kinn has been playing guitar since he was 12 years old. Not going to tell you how long that is. First playing folk guitar in church, and later moving on to rock rhythm guitar. With influences ranging from “Van Halen” to “The Beatles”, and Alan Parsons Project” to Def Leopard, he is versatile. Deacon also plays Bass guitar, and Percussion, as well as lead vocals. He has played in several bands ranging back to the late 80’s with “Millennia”, and “Skyye Blue to “Cactus Fire”, “Ballistic”, and “DEFCON 5”

Mark Neifeld (Keyboards/Vocals):
Mark’s music career began in 1976 playing piano, organ, and synthesizer for the pop-rock act King Arthur, which performed in clubs/bars in and around Baltimore, MD. Following a 3-year tenure with King Arthur he joined the progressive-rock band Light. Two years later Mark took a hiatus from the music business to pursue a career in science and engineering. Thirty-five years later he’s back behind the keys and rockin’ with The Q.

Jesse Jones (Guitar/Vocals)
Jesse is delighted to bring his guitar and vocal abilities to Tucsons The 'Q' As part of this continuum he strives to bring music not normally heard in the local music scene. When not being a self centered rock god, Jesse can be found eating nacho’s, catching up on old Sci-fi episodes or even stepping up at a local open mic. If none of the above apply you may find him at home deciding which black tee shirt accurately reflects his mood today.

Jason (The Space Cowboy) Lee Hardy (Drums/Percussion/Vocals)
Jason’s journey with music began at the age of 5 when he received his first drum set and mastered his first song- the Beatles She loves you. At the age of 14 Jason started singing in the choir and took private voice lessons, which lead to a scholarship to Blue Lakes Fine Arts in his home state of Michigan.Along the way Jason renewed his love of the drums and picked up the guitar and bass.Jason has played in a variety of bands in Michigan, Florida and Arizona. He is well versed in many genres from R & B Motown, heavy metal, acid rock, Reggae, Southern Rock, Classic Rock and Classic Country.Always looking to expand his musical career, no genre is off limits.
