About MICVH

Music has been the most constant thing in MICVH’s life. It’s given her a way to communicate and connect with other people in an open, honest, and vulnerable way. With influences like Ben Howard, Alt-J, and Childish Gambino, MICVH shares her stories of struggle, accomplishment, and relationships through her ethereal vocals and raw acoustic melodies.

MICVH is a traveler who, for a while, was searching for a place to call home. She was born in North Carolina and has lived in Los Angeles, the Dominican, and now Nashville. She’s explored all 50 US states (multiple times) and spent time in Thailand and Puerto Rico. MICVH came to realize that home to her means more than a physical place to call your own. It’s about relationship building, finding community, and seeing the beauty in everyday things.

MICVH’s father was a singer/songwriter which heavily influenced MICVH growing up. She was able to sing before she could speak, wrote her first song at age 11, and learned to play piano, cello, trombone, and guitar. With the loss of her father when she was 14 and coping with the deaths of other family members and friends, MICVH has become a strong individual who found comfort in her hobbies and adventures in addition to music. She’s found community in outdoor activities such as hiking, highlining, and rock climbing and has a deep passion for cosmology and astrophysics.

2019 brings new beginnings for MICVH with the anticipated release of her debut EP and other projects on the horizon. Inspired by the likes of Hozier, Norah Jones, and Daughter, MICVH’s new EP gives life to her heartfelt stories.
