About Murphy Blues All-Stars
Floyd Murphy, Jr., Producer, Writer, and Instrumentalist is the very embodiment of Chicago blues drawing continuously from his rich blues heritage of talent from his father Floyd Murphy Sr. (James Cotton, Junior Parker, Rufus Thomas, "Big Mama" Thornton, Bobby Blue Bland) who he played with in the mid 70’s-80’s and Uncle, Blues Hall Of Fame Artist Matt “Guitar” Murphy.

Floyd Murphy Jr. recorded on Matt “Guitar” Murphy’s CD’s “The Blues Don’t Bother Me” (1996), “Lucky Charm” (2000), and Last Call (2011) and co-wrote/Guitar/drums on the single “I Can Cry On My Own” (The Blues Don’t Bother Me) and “Who’s Got The Puddy” (Lucky Charm). Floyd Murphy Jr toured with Matt “Guitar” Murphy throughout the United States and across the pond and performed with the Blues Brothers in Japan on the Blue Note Circuit.

Murphy Jr. recorded and performed with the Mohegan Sun All-Stars (David Foster) which included Maceo Parker, and members from The Joe Cocker Band, Etta James, Dr. John, Tower of Power, James Taylor, and many more. The Mohegan Sun All-Stars opened for artist such as BB King, Buddy Guy, South Side Johnny, Maze, and SOS Band.
Murphy, Jr. also recorded and toured The United States and overseas with Al Copley (Jump On It), played drums with the Chicago Blues Kings, and opened for Big Twist And The Mellow Fellows.

With the recent death of Matt “Guitar” Murphy in June 2018, Floyd Murphy, Jr. has dedicated his musical journey to keep the legacy of both his dad and Uncle alive with the formation of The Murphy Blues All-Stars.
