D.Jurevičius Group

Founder, guitarist Deimantas Balys (Jurevičius) created this group while studying in Denmark, Aalborg. It was his first author's jazz project. Although the foundation was quite difficult due to the constant change of members, the direction of music and the lack of time - the musicians have still appeared in places such as the ''Saeby Jazz Festival 2016'' and ''Susan Himmel Bla'' jazz bar.

After returning to his native land, the composer continued his musical activities with drummer Kristupas Kmitas, Nojus Drąsutis (bass guitar) and Domas Žeromskas (piano). The newly-formed ensemble premiere took place in 2016, December 13th, "Pavilion" jazz bar. Later, Mantvydas Leonas Pranulis (trumpet) joined the group and Domantas Razmus took over the rhythm section. In 2018, the sound of trumpet was replaced by the saxophone - Donatas Petreikis.

D. Jurevicius group participated in various festivals like Vilnius Mama Jazz (Lithuania), Vilnius Jazz (Lithuania), Elektrėnai Jazz (Lithuania), Freedom Jazz Festival (Poland). In Vilnius Jazz Young Power'18 competition the band won the Grand Prix. The project was recognized as the best and strongest young jazz group. Currently the band is actively working on a new program, recording an album and taking part in concert activities.

D.Jurevičius group is a group of young musicians, led by guitarist/ composer Deimantas Jurevičius (Balys). The musical program carries out only original compositions, which combine different musical styles, completes the modern elements with jazz language. Performers have already appeared in various music festivals and projects during their two years of existence. In Vilnius Jazz Young Power'18 competition the band won the Grand Prix. The project was recognized as the best and strongest young jazz group.
