DJ R. SIMMS

Known for spinning eclectic soulful sets DJ R Simms has been a music lover since birth and playing music since the age 2. At age 7 he knew he wanted to be a DJ to help spread love worldwide. Making pause tapes and having parties in his parents basement in the summer & during holidays started his dream of DJing in the early 80’s. Influenced by the mainstream music of the 70’s & 80’s he always had equal love for album cuts that would move the people but were not radio hits. By the late 80’s Simms teamed up with his neighbor to get turntables. Together they started doing house parties and weddings throughout VA, NC, DC & MD. Leaning more and more away from mainstream radio by the mid 90’s his love for house music & independent soul became a staple of his DJ sets that set him apart from his local peers. The love for his craft and music continues to keep Simms in a creative space to supply music to everyone
