About Creekside Republic

In the rolling hills of the Central Texas area there is a small town called Belton, TX. In Belton there is a creek that runs through the heart of this small Central Texas town. In this creek some artists find their inspiration from the freely rolling waves. It seems like it is almost as if life seems to slow down by the sandy banks of Nolan Creek. Although this creek seems to be full of inspiration, there is a touch of loneliness in the free-flowing sound of the creek running. From these lonely sandy banks, Creekside Republic set its roots in 2018 somewhere in the midst of this loneliness.

Creekside Republic has quite the story of their origin. The band originally started when Lead Singer/Rhythm Guitarist Ron Barber found his Americana/Texas Country roots along the silent shores of Nolan Creek. Barber found that his passion was creating music that tells the tale of loneliness and heart break with the gritty sounds of a Les Paul at his hands. Barber started his career as a solo acoustic artist, but later decided to chase the dream of touching people’s hearts and emotions with the sound of a full band to better reinforce the meaning behind his lyrics. Creekside Republic’s sound is a special four-piece sound that can be found somewhere along the lines of a contemporary Southern Rock groove combined with the fusion of the open sound of Americana music that is found in the Flatlands of West Texas.

Before Creekside Republic was founded, the band used to go by the name of “The Ron Barber Band.” Throughout 2017 Barber had picked up members of his troupe and found a way to make their way throughout the Texas music circuit. Barber first connected with Luke Theodore over timeless college parties and bonfires at their small private university in Belton. Theodore has found his role in the band as the man who lays down the tasteful beats that emphasize this open rock sound. After setting their basis in finding the band’s sound, Theodore and Barber picked up Bassist, Matt Fetterhoff who comes from the small Texas town called Troy. Shortly after Fetterhoff joined the troupe, the band caught interest of their Lead Guitarist Blake Jones who finds his pride in calling himself one of the loudest and proudest Fightin’ Texas Aggies. After picking up arms, the band quickly hit the studio in 2017 releasing their first debut single “Til the Sun Comes Up” in January of 2018. 0However, after releasing this single, the band decided that the title “Ron Barber Band” didn’t feel like the representative title for their distinctly original sound. So in 2018 the “Ron Barber Band” changed their name to Creekside Republic. Throughout this time recording, the band made their way throughout the long stretches of road in Texas performing in venues of all sizes from small to large. The band has been on Sixth Street in Austin, TX, to the lonely flatland of West Texas out in San Angelo. The band has played in venues such as Bostocks, Stephenville, TX The Backyard, Waco, TX, The Little River Club, San Angelo, TX and the Dirty Dog on Sixth Street. Recently, the band has been finding its way into the music market of San Marcos, and Dallas. Trying to hit the college towns, the band will be running themselves throughout the college crowds of Texas in such places like Lubbock and College Station.

Currently, Creekside Republic is currently working on releasing their first independently produced album. The 2018 album will be entitled “Letting Go” as it will address the experiences of the members of the band going through heartbreak and loneliness. The release date of their debut album will be announced sometime in the summer of 2018. The band expects heads to turn when they release this album, because it will be the first true representation of this iconic Central Texas Sound. 2018 is expected to be a big year for the band as it will be the end of old roots, and the beginning of new ones.
