About Helen O'Shea & The Shanakees
Helen O'Shea & The Shanakees - Americana with a Celtic twist - "AmeriCeltiCana"! Helen O'Shea EP "Mama Told You" :: CD "Turning Tides..." available CD Baby - Amazon - iTunes - Spotify.
Bio - Helen O'Shea & The Shanakees - 2019
In April 2016, at the release party for her first EP "Mama Told You...", Helen O'Shea put together a unique 10 piece band to perform her original songs, merging existing rock & bluegrass bands to achieve her unique "AmeriCeltiCana" sound - Americana with a Celtic twist! A smaller version of that band went on to become "The Shanakees" - the name derived from the Gaelic word "seanachai" meaning "storyteller". The band has now appeared at multiple venues over the last three years: The Arts Council at Princeton Summer Stage, Princeton Public Library, Veterans Benefit Metuchen, Mary Jacobs Library Fundraiser, Princeton Communiversity, Light of Day Fundraiser @ The Wonder Bar, Light of Day Acoustic Carousel @ Langosta Lounge, Music for Moore @ Princeton Elks Lodge, White Butterfly Music Festival, Community Park North Ampitheater - Princeton, Skyland Songwriters Festival, Black Potato Music Festival, 1867 Sanctuary - Ewing, The Saint - Asbury Park, Havana - New Hope, The Bitter End - NYC.
Helen O'Shea & The Shanakees are thrilled to be back at one of their favorite places - The Saint, Asbury Park - where they had a packed house for the "Turning Tides..." CD Release show last summer as part of their "Afternoon Of Americana" with Dave Vargo and Dan Rauchwerk! So get your Celtic and Americana Music Fan Friends together for a show unlike any other this St Patrick's Day and come join the "Shindig @ The Saint" for an unforgettable day! ??☘️
