About The Party Animals

The Party Animals were the legendary house band of the Corner Hotel.
The Corner Hotel was then and still remains today one of the most famous music venues of Australia. It was started by Wayne Gale, who also started The Party Animals. The band was formed by Wayne over 25 years ago as a band for industry night on Mondays which could showcase his venue and indulge his passion for music.

The band quickly grew in status with a superstar line up. The list of guests is endless. It features many of the who’s who of the Australian and New Zealand music industry. It is widely known that Pink Floyd arrived at The Corner Hotel one evening with the specific request to jam with the band. The fact that they did this has sealed the band in Australian rock history.

The Party Animals was also a dynamic band that added and subtracted members to accommodate the songs and the gigs whilst still retaining the core of consummate musicians. This is a band that is able to play anything.

The Party Animals still hold the house record for crowd size at several venues in Melbourne even after more than 20 years. They specialize in playing the rock anthems that many of us find memorable. Their musicianship is impeccable.

At the Richmond Social Club the band had a residency where they consistently played to more that 15000 people . One night the guys from Status Quo even rolled up to jam with the band.
The Party Animals were billed as the headline band at Broadford on several occasions. This is a major rock concert in Victoria. The band went down so well it did an extra hour of encores.
Amongst its many achievements it was joined on stage by Pink Floyd and also legendary guitarist Roy Buchannon.

Today The Party Animals are favorites on the music scene. They play at numerous venues in and around Melbourne and have recently toured in Tasmania with Jimmy Barnes’ brother Alan as a guest vocalist. On Australia Day they were the headline band to 15000 people in Bendigo.

In November The Party Animals have been invited to play in New Zealand at one of the major venues and the shows will be promoted and sponsored by the major radio station in New Zealand.

The Party Animals play classic rock with some more current rock thrown in. They play covers of popular artists such at The Rolling Stones, INXS, Billy Idol, Dragon, Cold Chisel, ACDC, Santana, and Pink Floyd. They are exceptionally good musicians.
