About Daniel Muller, saxophone
Saxophonist Daniel Muller is currently pursuing his M.M. degree at the Mary Pappert School of Music at Duquesne University, where he studies with James Houlik. He holds a B.M. from the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory in Berea, OH where his primary teacher was Greg Banaszak. In addition to studies in jazz and composition, Muller has played in masterclasses with Tong Yang, Olli-Pekka Tuomisalo, Doug Masek and Keith Young, and has also taken part in the Mana Saxophone Institute at the National Music Festival in Chestertown, Maryland.
Muller was a guest lecturer and recitalist at the 2018 Navy Band Saxophone Symposium at George Mason University, presenting his program entitled “The Saxophone and the Third Reich: Exploring the Holocaust through the Lives of Jewish Composers of Saxophone Music” with pianist Denella Sing. His chamber group, the Besozzi Trio, has advanced to the quarterfinal round of the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, which will take place at the University of Notre Dame in May 2018.
Muller originally hails from Cleveland, Ohio, where he continues to perform on the saxophone and other woodwinds in a wide variety of musical settings.
