About Mississippi Nova

Mississippi Nova has emerged from the Arizona desert in atomic fashion. The loud, dusty rock and roll birth took place May of 2016 in Phoenix Arizona. Founded by vocalist and guitarist Robby Reiter and drummer John Goodwin, the premise of the group has been to deliver original tunes riddled with the classic, organic and pure elements of old time rock and roll. John’s background in punk, grunge, metal and garage fused with Robby’s blues, soul, classic rock and sixties-psych delivers catchy overdriven grungy blues rock numbers.

Influences such as Peter Green, Ray Charles, Jimi Hendrix, John Bonham, Keith Moon are unveiled by the music. After a long stint as a two-piece, Jaime Chan joined the group. Providing fullness and complexity through thunderous John Entwistle-esque bass licks. Recently Tom Hammer has taken over on the drums in the live setting and for the foreseeable future. Mississippi Nova has laid down a melodic slab of ear candy with their debut self- titled album serving as the foundation to their future rock and roll abode.

The desert rockers have demonstrably built upon the previously released ‘Out of the Sonic Desert’ EP. By striking a timeless effort, the focal point lies heavily on the story and the melodies. Making it impossible to overlook the bands musical soul and expanse. Although at times the album is unpredictable, their message is clear from vast narratives and an eruption of overdriven amplifiers foaming at the mouth. The early stages of their journey set them on a good trajectory for the treacherous ascent towards rock and roll notoriety. Best experienced live.+
