About Locust Creek Band

Michael Thompson, Banjo, Guitar, Vocals.
Mike started playing guitar at 5 years old, started playing in Rock Bands in junior high. Played Classic Rock throughout the 90s. His dad always wanted him to learn Banjo and play bluegrass. Mike finally gave in and is glad he did. Chip & Mike founded East Fork Junction along with Tom Hill. They played with EFJ about 5 years before joining 38:20 with Jim & Aimee Rink. They had a wonderful time and still do playing for Churches and Retirement homes around the area. Mike is excited about the new group Locust Creek Band, He thinks you will be too!

Chip Giddens: Rhythm guitar and vocals
Chip has been playing guitar for only ten years and loves every minute of it. He grew up listening to classic rock but when he moved to SW Ohio back in 1982 he fell in love with the sounds of the mountain music style traditional bluegrass and gospel bluegrass. This is the 3rd band he's been a part of from their start, East Fork Junction, 38:20 and now he's really looking forward having a lot of fun pickin' with Locust Creek Band in 2018. Chip truly loves all styles of bluegrass so he can't really say any one band is his favorite one

Bill Lykins: Mandolin, guitar, banjo, dobro, bass and vocals
Bill is no stranger to bluegrass and country music, growing up playing and singing in his family's band, started out on the bass at just nine years old, then moved to the banjo for a couple years then onto singing lead and playing guitar. He is now playing mandolin with the up and coming Locust Creek Band continuing on his love for the music and the people.

Hillary McDonough: Fiddle and vocals
Hillary has been singing in church since she was a little girl. At the age of 15 she started taking classical violin lessons and two years ago, started playing bluegrass. With no previous bluegrass background she played in the bluegrass band 38:20 for two years. She quickly fell in love with this style of music and is now playing fiddle and vocals in the Locust Creek Band. We are very excited for this new journey and think you will enjoy our music.

Tom Crippen: Bass, guitar, harmonica and vocals
Tom has been a music lover his whole life always loved the sound of traditional music in Appalachian style. Tom really enjoys playing guitar, bass but is awesome on the harmonica too. All for fun! Now playing bass with the Locust Creek Band
