About The Lonely Owls
The Lonely Owls are a Nashville-based indie rock band merging modern rock aesthetics with new-Nashville sounds. Akin to Jimmy Eat World, Muse, Juliana Theory, and Manchester Orchestra, The Lonely Owls have their eyes set on influencing the music scene as a whole.
Their debut EP, Hey Kid, Nice Dream, releasing Summer 2019, features bombastic riffs, soaring melodies, shuffling and complex beats, sweeping and atmospheric guitar elements, and crooning vocals. Their eclectic sensibilities spill over into the music they create; a weathered sense of nostalgia dipped in the waters of the modern age of rock and roll.
The group wouldn't dare say they are re-inventing a genre, but what they are trying to do is breathe a new life into it. The rock quartet, comprised of Jonathan Johnson (vox), Reese Hawkins (lead guitar, vox), Matt Young (drums), and Matt Johnson (bass), hail from the corners of East Nashville.
The act has supported their community and its scene with other groups such as, Taco Mouth, Ferris and the Wheels, Hellfire Revival, Zuma, Sister Antics, Nowhere Fast Music, The Dangerous Method, Steve Forrest & the A-Oks, and more.
