About FLEXANT

FleXanT is a melodic Death metal band from around Ghent. The foundations were laid in the early summer of 2009 by 3 musicians which all had a past in other metal bands. (Philippe Delhaute - Mortamin/Essatic/Mortamin ‘reborn’ – Philippe Tack - Essatic, Robin 'Animal' De Rouck – Omens Of Disaster). A first rehearsal with throats (Robin De Rouck) and the 2 guitar abusers (Philippe Tack and Philippe Delhaute) in the FleXanT layer ' Music Alley ' at Ghent, ended immediately in a true painful massacre of loud music notes. The first track 'Pain' was born. Of course, this proved to be a very good start of the new born ' from hell ' project FleXanT. The measures where set! Meanwhile FleXanT attempted to complete the band members with a bassist and a drummer. Some musicians passed the revue but without great success. In a sentence……….. you just can't just become a FleXanT member that easily! Hell no! Notwithstanding the disappointments the band started to do his own drum programming. No life 'til metal! This was actually the real start of FleXanT. Never give up! September 2010,FleXanT continued to build different numbers when a fellow string abuser/bass was interested to sell his soul to FleXanT. Called by the name of Dempsey Voets. He was the founding guitarist of Ghedrocht & Adamanth Mammon. A very talented person who fits perfectly in the weird brain squiggles of the founding band members. A grand asset to the band. As previously mentioned, you do not become a FleXanT member that easily! February 2011 – the band decided to throw himself in the lion's cage. A try-out at Kim's place in Ghent with programmed drums. Until than still with a cd player, later with a laptop. This was the real drive of the band. The kick of climbing the stage with this music was awesome!. They had seen the light and realized that this was something to prosecute. The reactions were very positive and this strengthened the band enormously. Suddenly the band got a handful of gigs in 2011 with much success and so decided to dive into the studio in november 2011 at ' Dominique De Vos – Catfight Entertainment ' who also produced this album. The band decided immediately afterwards to further productions with Do from Catfight. For the band meanwhile an indispensable element in the recording and producing of this cd…. and further projects. Initially, it was the intention to further develop the programmed drums for this cd. But wonder at wonder we got the proposal of an enormously talented drummer who wanted to cater session-drums for the debut cd ' Dark Sides Of Humanity '. Called and probably born in hell 'Baruch Van Belleghem’, drummer and co-founder of the band 'Satyrus'. He really kicked the hell out of his drum set for our debut. Also the band needed on ' Dark Sides Of Humanity ' a kick ass intro and artwork. This was placed in the map by Foatie Dewaele who perfectly knew what the band needed. This was also a very strong input in the debut cd and an indispensable element for the founding of the sound and image of the band. The band also looks forward to future collaborations. Thanks to the contribution and commitment of Baruch, Foatie and Do, FleXanT was already becoming much wider and more interesting. The cd was later mastered and printed by ‘Tony De Block' from ‘Studio Midas – Redhodcd printing'. April 2012, after much blood, sweat and tears the debut cd is finally finished. The band owes and wants to tribute to the cooperating parties for their commitment and sacrifices. With the result that 'Dark Sides Of Humanity' turned out to be excellent! FleXanT is still growing by the son of Robin! He engaged himself to sweat his ass off for a few months and learn to play all drummlines. And from the first rehearsal Calvin joined (august 2012), the other band members heard he was so good that they confirmed the start of this FleXanT drummer-boy! Welcome, Calvin De Rouck!!! September 2012, after a few serious discussions between the two guitar abusers, Philippe Tack decided to quit the band. We respect his choice and wish him all the best in future projects. Oktober 2012, 8-string abuser Zoran Van Bellegem decides to fill the empty guitar place @ FleXanT, so the band is again complete! Now he has the difficult task to learn the riffs of all created songs of the band, and help to create new stuff. Februari 2013, Philippe Delhaute and Zoran Van Belleghem decide to create an complete new band with another music style, so they leave FleXanT together! This is the sign for the band to call Philippe Tack and ask to come back now the band needs a guitar master. Robin calls Philippe Tack and from the first few words, he decides to come back !!! So we all say => Welcome Back, Mr Quickfingers! March 2013, after our show in Geluwe (Belgium) at Pure Belgian Metal Fest with only 1 guitar player, Ruben Bossuyt came to us and asked if it was possible to join our band as 2nd guitar player. But still it's a fught to keep the newby's so the floor is changing now and then. Due to personal problems was Calvin in a personal fight to stay or leave. We have allready a new drummer on our floors now. Welcome to Bert Fonteyn. All Right!!! FleXanT consists of;
