About Ions And Eras
Ions & Eras is the brainchild of composer and vocalist Sarah Lessire.
The Chamber Neosoul band formed in the summer of 2017 in Los Angeles, and features Daniel Weidlein on keyboards and saxophone, Miller Wrenn on bass, Alex Sill on guitar, Chris Wabich on drums and Sarah Lessire on vocals.
Their first EP, Life For A While, was released in February of 2018.
The music blends rich harmonies with intricate groove and odd rhythms.
Some of the melodic lines borrow from Pop music while incorporating more mathematical Prog elements, and the general architecture of the songs is fueled by a good dose of Baroque aesthetic and counterpoint.
The band's inspiration is to be found amidst emerging Psych NeoSoul bands such as Hiatus Kaiyote or Woo Park, and Modern Fusion Jazz artists in the likes of Tigran Hamasyan, Esbjörn Svensson, The Bad Plus and Avishai Cohen.
Lyrical landscapes articulate around symbolic and impressionistic dialectics and often take on multiple sensory and archetypal perspectives.
