'Bama-born and NY-cultivated, Ajo got her start in music by making up raps and teaching TLC choreo in the schoolyard. Soon she was turf war-ing with the local EMT for practice space and met one of her musical mentors who introduced her to Jazz. The years that followed transformed the talent-show-dropout into a hip hop-tinged RnB darling whose sound boasts stunt-worthy lyrics, colorful personality, and shoulder-bouncing beats. Her fiercely playful approach takes inspo from the likes of Missy Elliott and Spice Girls.
