Brave Rival

The whole festival was excellent with brave rival the icing on the cake. If you get a chance to go to one of their gigs take it as their live show is incredible, and buy at least one of their albums you won’t regret it

Brave Rival were on fire I love this band & I try to see them as often as possible, the musicianship is of the highest standard, it was their 1st time in Preston & they nailed it big time as well as being an amazing band they are lovely people with a great sense of humour, they played songs from Life's Machine & their latest album Fight or Flight with a few covers thrown in for good measure, miss them at your peril. 🤟🔥

Wonderful show, this group i feel will just keep better and better... lead singer has a really good voice, terrific guitarists and drummer together with a good selection of songs. I'm already looking for the next venue to see them again. The berkhamsted civic centre is small, but very friendly and actually very good too f9r this sort of event. i've never been there before, but will keep my eyes open for upcoming gigs/events.

Brave Rival are one of the finest acts I have seen in the last 30 years & believe me that is no exaggeration, they are a slick well oiled mean machine that nail it time after time & Morecambe was no exception, a stunning thunderous performance once again from 5 amazing musicians who are in complete sync with one another miss them at your peril. 🤟🔥

It was an incredible night this is a band at the top of their game they are extremely talented, Brave Rival are one of the best bands I have seen in the last thirty years, great songs, great stage presence & brilliant musicianship they really are a credit to their profession, Dudley was well & truly rocked 10/10. 🔥🤟

Superb gig.....Brave Rival are a super tight band with great songs.....stunning twin female lead singers and the lead guitarist lives up to his nickname of 'Ed the Shred'! First visit to the Cluny....a small intimate venue with great sound quality .....recommended!

An awesome night. I saw BR opening at Maid of Stone ‘23 and have been keen to see their full set ever since. As luck would have it I was able to see them in Oxford for the first night of the Fight or Flight tour and they were on fire. Great vocals, tight band and Ed ‘the shred’ was truly outstanding on the guitar. It was a privilege to be there

I Really enjoyed this show, I have seen the band in action a couple of times before in support and headlining their own shows and they have become really polished now. The main feature is the two strong and beautiful voices of Lindsey and Chloe backed up by a sound machine of guitar, bass and drums that power along on all songs. They sing mainly their own material which is good and varied. They did a cover on this occasion which was fantastic too. Ed “the shred” on guitar is a virtuoso but fits in perfectly with the strong engine of Billy the Bass and Donna the drummer. Rock, tinged with blues and soul is the make up of most of their material but they can do acoustic too. This show at the Half Moon was full on with material old and new all of which was well received by by their many “Bravia’s”

Cosy venue, plenty of places to eat nearby. Brave Rival were immense, superb (not enough superlatives), a thoroughly enjoyable evening, in fact this has to be one of my most favourite gigs. Big River were supporting who are a new band to me but one that I will definitely be following from now on.

Such a cool and supremely talented Blues Rock band; you must catch Brave Rival live; they are captivating!! Chloe and Lyndsey's powerful singing and effortless harmonising is spellbinding! Ed's lead guitar and endless solo's are superb, Donna's an awesome drummer with powerful solo's and Billy plays a 5-string bass like I've never seen!! A tight as-hell band that will captivate any audience, engaging the crowd and involving them in the powerful, stunning set!! You will not regret seeing Brave Rival live; do not miss them!!

Great festival, woken up on Sunday morning by a tornado of Rock and Blues excellence . Brave Rival hit the stage running and quickly attracted a very appreciative crowd. The dual vocals of Chloe Josephine and Lyndsey Bonnick woke up everyone within earshot with such a highly polished set of vocal excellence. The powerhouse of Billy on Base and Donna on Drums fueled a mill of solid foundation superb interaction with Ed 'The Shred' on guitar. A high energy set that set the bar high for the rest of the day. They have toured hard in the first half of the year, wowed Norway with their first International festival and the second half of the year is packed. Great musicians, great entertainers and lovely people. Find them, see them, meet them, love em'

Our first time at the West End Centre, what a great venue👍👏👏 As long time Brave Rival fans, we love them to bits and just when you think they can't possibly get any better...they pull a short gig like this out of the hat. Hot on the heels of their first block buster International Festival in Norway Brave Rival are back with renewed vigor. The dual vocals of Chloe and Lyndsey are a master class of vocal range, great Blues, Epic Rock and polished performance all rolled into one. Donna on drums is a jaw dropping experience, she is amazing. Billy on base is totally solid but really came to the fore in the last new number, which is excellent, leading of with a base intro and featuring throughout the track. Last but not least Ed 'The Shred' on guitar, every solo an applause winning feature. As always Brave Rival produced one of the most polished and entertaining stage shows ever and are destined for great things 👌💥💥♥️

Staggeringly good. Music for the big stage in a tiny venue. I still have their songs running through my head two days after the gig. Chloe & Lindsay are incredibly talented singers . Chloe's stage presence is particularly impressive - she really is a whirlwind of energy! Ed's guitar skills are magical too. Can't wait to see them again.

Brave Rival, quite possibly the biggest music sensation to come out of Portsmouth ever! Thursday night, the 3rd headline gig of 2023, was sensational. The girls vocals were epic, such good form and note perfect, spine tingling and at times, especially the Acoustic numbers, which always tug at the heart strings (yup real tears). Donna Peters on drums (and Acoustic guitar) in the top 20 nominees for top Rock'n'Blues Instrumentalist 2023, Congratulations and I believe only Drummer and only Female💥💥💥 that is some achievement👏👏👏👏👏💥💕 An amazing performance and half the power house with Billy on Base...brilliant and solid🔥🔥 Each track built on the last with 'The angry' ex boyfriend, sh*t time in life 'blues/rock numbers blasting us into musical orbit...wow And the pure beauty of the reflective then Acoustic numbers, releasing the emotions. Each member of Brave Rival throw their heart and soul into ever number and the dialogue along the way, tells a story and carries you along...it is addictive, they are addictive..... Nor to be left out Ed 'The Shred' Clarke on lead guitar.....in the top 5 nominees for UK Rock and Blues Instrumentalist of the year 2023 (public voting opens 4th Feb, get in there and give him your vote..and your family, mates and the barmaid) His playing is jaw dropping, passion, talent, emotion, aggression, inter- instrument conversational and just plain bloody amazing (most lead guitarists at some stage have to look down at what they are doing...not Ed...he's off in the zone...) A great set, raised the roof, broke in some Brave Rival virgins and gained a lot of new fans. These guys are going to be huge...and they love hugs and a chat👏👏👏💥💥💥💕💥

Only seen Brave Rival twice but so good to hear music of such quality. All the better that they are a Pompey band following in the footsteps of all the many quality musicians and bands that have come from our City. Can't wait to see them again. 👍👏👏

The venue is brilliant if a little chilly to start with and a few minor misunderstandings as to door opening time and it was well below zero outside. Brave Rival have honed their stage show over a fantastic 'headline' season and continue to tweak each set. The duel lead vocals of Chloe and Lindsey are second to none, great strength, stamina and range, they harmonise perfectly and swap lead seamlessly...amazing timing. Donna on Drums teams up with Billy on Base for a solid foundation, both soloing during several tracks to huge applause. Speaking of which Ed 'The Shred' on guitar gives a masterclass of Rock and Blues. This Bandvis going to fill some far bigger venues in the not too distant future, get to know them now, do yourself a favour, check em' out. Laurance Jones.....my first time seeing him and the Band live and will most definitely not be the last, great polished set, amazing guitar and for me amazing Hammond Organ. Very Eric Clapton in places, voice and guitar. A hint of Quo and even got me up and dancing (1st time in 12yrs) Bar, great selection, great staff and reasonablde prices. Great Venue, Great Gig👍👌👏😁🍻

Brave Rival the fastest climbing band of the moment. Brilliant lead vocals from Lindsey and Chloe, amazing vocal ranges, perfect ! Ed the shred on guitar , one of the best and to see him jam on stage with Dom Martin was epic . Billy on Base and Donna on drums are the foundation, rock solid. The whole band dynamic and interaction is mesmerising, entertaining and humbling all in one. This is the don't miss band of the year

Great night with some really good up and coming artists. What great venue, friendly good food and drink, passionate about live music and the icing on the cake....Brave Rival...Great musicians producing a brilliant stage show, big sound,. They are getting a lot of attention, deservedly so, with special mention to Joe Bonamassa adding them to his Spoitify play list and calling them out. We are going to see a lot more of Brave Rival, bloody nice people too..see you at the Square Tower and supporting Dom Martin at the Harlington Centre, Fleet, later in the year. Check em ' out👍🍻

First time seeing Brave Rival live and first time at the Bullfrog Blues Club….what a marriage made in heaven! Great, friendly venue with good facilities and great bar prices. This was the opening gig on Brave Rival’s first headline tour…..wow it did not disappoint. On home turf, The band entered to a rapturous applause and immediately launched into a powerful set of their own tracks. A great cover of ‘Sound of Silence’ built from gentle quiet intro to a ‘ wall of sound’ totally dominated by the ‘dynamic duo’ co-lead vocals of Chloe and Lindsey was superb. Ed Clarke on guitar is wizard, making those guitars sing with some amazing solos and riffs to die for (back to practice for me). A great duet of acoustic guitars with the ‘multi instrumental’ Donna (drums) calmed things down for a short time with Chloe and Lindsey showing their great vocal talents from quiet, harmonious, emotion to Bluesy, raunchy, raucous Rock. Having just spent the weekend at Alfold Rock and Blues Festival in the company of some of the top female vocalists in this genre, Grace Bond(WRM), Elles Bailey and Sari Schorr. Make no mistake Chloe and Lindsey are up there and there stage craft, vocal interactions, humour and vocal range and power, lack nothing at all. Billy Dedman on Base is the power house in the engine room (I’m sure he is a dead ringer for Brian Blessed’s Son, sorry Billy😊) solid on base with some good solos. Donna Peters on Drums is the other half of the engine room, solid, sharp and played some great grooves, ace solos and fun interaction with the rest of the band. Jonny on ‘keys’ is a great addition and produced some great riffs and harmonies, tremendous depth of backing and contributes very much to the big band sound. This was the most amazing night of great Blues Rock in the company of some fellow supporters of not only keeping music live but keeping rapidly up and coming bands in the spotlight.
