About Plural
Plural's blend of strong songwriting, multi-layered vocals and lush melodic arrangements has been compared to the music of current indie pop bands like Wilco, The Shins and Guided By Voices, as well as the New Romantic pop of early '80's REM, The Cure, U2 and Psychedelic Furs. Self-recorded, self-produced, and not the least bit self-indulgent, Plural is committed to the art of song, and music that is atmospheric, beautiful and timeless.
Plural began its life as a mere embryo, growing in the womb of the popular ska/punk band Buck O Nine. Cofounder Scott Kennerly teamed up with singer/songwriter/roadie extraordinaire John Meeks in the back of the tour bus to write what would become the beginnings of Plural's first album "Have A Rad Summer." Joined by Buck O Nine drummer Jeff Hawthorne and bassist Jason Holford, Plural began playing live shows in San Diego and Los Angeles, building a loyal following and sharing the stage with a variety of notable artists including members of The Bangles, Squirrel Nut Zippers, The Incredible Moses Leroy, The Connells and more.
