Great show! The band is high energy, sound great and the set list was perfect! It's impressive how perfect the mix was, the balance of the various instruments and vibrant and exciting vocals. These guys really know how to get the blood pumping even early on a Sunday! If you get a chance to see them, go!

About One of the Boyzz

THE BAND:

With the wind burnt collar of his leather jacket turned up against the night, his brown hair now giving way to a more distinguished silver tone, his faded blue jeans comfortably fit, Dan Buck's rough-hewn exterior recalls that of the neighborhood rebel in 1978. Having been signed to Epic Records nearly 40 years ago in The Boyzz - releasing the hit: “ Too Wild To Tame” (The Boyzz - 1978), Dan Buck is back as “One of the Boyzz” in his tight six-piece "Roadhouse-style" band:. One Of The Boyzz – The band features Buddy Wiegelman on guitar, Joe Gagliardo on bass, Jimmi Perrino on keyboards and organ, Scot Kelly on drums, and EZ Dave Haines on Sax and harmonica. They have been ripping up festivals, concerts and clubs throughout the region (in their former name Cool Rockin’ Daddies).

THE HISTORY

Dan Buck's emotion-charged vocals and fire & brimstone stage presence led the rough 'n' tumble Boyzz from Illinoizz to record two albums for CBS-distributed Epic/CBS Records. A series of whirlwind tours followed, that read like a Who's Who of Rock & Roll, which included Aerosmith, The J. Geils Band, Meatloaf, UFO, Cheap Trick and REO Speedwagon, to name just a few. When that band's five year reign ended, Buck then formed Dirt's Raiders, which recorded an album for Atlantic Records and two other subsequent bands, The Original Sinners and Dan Buck's Small Change - both independently released. The title song from the 1978 Boyzz from Illinoizz debut album, “Too Wild to Tame” is in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio.

THE SHOW

Weaned on the hard-driving industrial-strength rock 'n' roll of Chicago's Fox River Valley, Buck has, for decades, traveled the same well-worn regional highways that eventually lifted Bob Seger, John Mellencamp and Ted Nugent into the international spotlight. Critics from all around the Heartland - Chicago, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Cleveland, Pittsburg, Buffalo, Toronto - point to Buck's riveting stage presence and proven ability to energize an audience and keep them in his sway as prime reasons for the success of his bands. The Chicago Tribune, Sun-Times, Variety and Billboard magazines were among the major publications that noticed his talents as a leader. Built on the concept of being a lean, mean, rockin’ machine, this band pays homage to "Rock Greats" many of whom they’ve shared the stage with from every era - along with some originals too!
