About Koko Lupa
Born in Chicago, Koko Lupa's family moved to Dallas when she was young. The second oldest of five kids, she often found herself looking for new ways to garner extra attention, she took a shining to performing comedy routines, dancing, singing, and even dabbled in sketches and painting. As she got older (and more shy), she began to seek solace in a crowded household and would spend hours locked in the bathroom performing music from Da Brat, The Fugees, Tupac, Eric B and Rakim and MC Lyte.
Eventually she discovered Fruity Loops now known as FL Studio and began to use her ear for music to produce and sell hip hop instrumentals. After several years of working with many rappers and even ghostwriting, she turned to writing for herself. With tons of encouragement and nudging from her close friends and family, Koko Lupa finally entered a professional recording studio in late 2017 and began recording Land of the Lost, an album comprised with 14 tracks that she has written over the past five years. The album is expected to be finalized and release in early 2018. Stay tuned for more.
