Weeding Out The Stoned

A pack of comedians enter. All but one of them are stoned. “Detective” Alex Grubard administers field sobriety tests, seeks testimony, and plays mind games to root out the sober individual so the audience can win dope prizes! It’s up to all of us to seek justice by weeding out the stoned.

Weeding Out The Stoned debuted in 2015 at Five Dollar Comedy Week and has held more than 100 shows in over a dozen states. The show has been selected for the New York Comedy Festival, The Highlarious Comedy Festival, WOOtenany Comedy Festival, Montclair Mini Fest, Filmadelphia, and has been featured in Time Out New York, Philadelphia Inquirer, Philly Voice, Phindie, Brooklyn Vegan, Delaware News Journal, Denver Westward, Rooster Magazine and other publications.

Weeding Out The Stoned is created and hosted by comedian Alex Grubard. Grubard has performed stand-up on mtvU, sketch on Comedy Central and heard on SiriusXM. His debut stand-up album "Let Me Teach You How To Distill Gin" debuted in 2021 on Helium Comedy Records. He was been selected to compete in the 41st Seattle International Comedy Competition, was a finalist in Philly's Phunniest, was the 2013 winner of LOL @ The Grand and has performed in the Cape Fear Comedy Festival, Jersey City Comedy Festival, North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival and more. He regularly performs at Asylum NYC, Helium Comedy Club, Punch Line Comedy Club, Brooklyn Comedy Club, Corgi Spirits and Pet Shop JC. He smokes pot.
