About Scot Coogan
Scot Coogan is a charismatic front man with a commanding presence. Whether he is singing center stage or from a riser behind his drum kit, Coogan’s performances are always as exciting to watch as they are listen to. Regarded in the industry as an exceptionally talented vocalist, drummer and percussionist, Scot is also proficient on bass, guitar and piano. An all-around performer, with a great ear, perfect pitch and captivating blue eyes. Scot grew up in Chicago and began performing at age 5. Always a lead member of his high school marching band, it was no surprise when after graduation at age 18, he was offered the prestigious position as featured soloist on drum kit with the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp Jazz Ensemble and toured Europe for two months. Scot relocated to Los Angeles to continue his education at Musician’s Institute of Technology in Hollywood, CA, graduating top of his class, with honors and receiving the coveted TAMA Rock Stylist of the Year Award. Shortly thereafter, Coogan was signed to his first record deal with the band Violet’s Demise on Atlantic. Proving his versatility, Scot was hired as drummer and backing vocalist for the Top 10 R&B band, All For One, landed a grunge gig with POL, toured the states with Vanilla Ice and went to Ozfest with metal maven Otep. Known for his accomplished drumming, spot on vocals and exciting live performance skills, Scot was signed to several more record deals, featured in magazines, on radio and TV with various rock and pop acts including Ednaswap, Pete Yorn, Paul Gilbert (Mr. Big) and Sinead O’Connor, touring the world, traveling to Europe, Asia and Japan. Between tours and sessions, Coogan continued to bolster his prominence in the LA music scene with his popular residency show, 6 Foot Nurse. Scot mesmerized audiences, performing as lead vocalist and drummer, replicating Robert Plant’s voice and John Bonham’s drumming style, concurrently and note for note, ending each show with array of classic and obscure Beatles and John Lennon tunes, an homage to his musical influences. The show’s popularity led to performances in New York and Las Vegas, along with other opportunities for Coogan. After catching a 6 Foot Nurse performance in 2003, Nikki Sixx (Motley Crue) and Tracii Guns (LA Guns) hired Scot as drummer and vocalist for their heavy metal super group, Brides of Destruction, a critically acclaimed band that went on to record two albums and tour the world through 2006. Coogan served as writer and vocalist on the Bride’s hit, LIFE, a song which had an emotional impact on listeners around the world. To this day, fans are still inspired by Scot’s heartfelt lyrics of hope and are moved by his melodic and powerful vocal performance. In 2007, Coogan was recruited by original KISS guitarist ACE Frehley to be his band’s new lead singer and drummer. Scot performed on Ace’s comeback 2008 Rocket Ride World Tour, 2009-2010 Anomoly World Tour and 2011 No Regrets US Tour. Scot is featured on Ace's 2009 release, Anomaly and 2010 DVD, Behind the Player. At the end of 2009, during a break in in the Ace Frehley tour schedule, Coogan took over front man duties in the New York based band January Jane, a position that once featured American Idol contestant, Broadway performer, Constantine Maroulis. From 2008 through 2012, Scot continued to perform, write, record, produce and tour with Lynch Mob, featuring George Lynch (Dokken). In the summer of 2012, Coogan was handpicked by Lita Ford (The Runaways) to be her drummer and backing vocalist on the extensive arena tour, Rock of Ages, which also featured Def Leppard, Poison and coincided with the release of the motion picture, Rock of Ages. Besides headlining some of the world's biggest events like Sweden Rock Fest, UK's Download Festival and here in the USA at M3 and Rocklahoma, Scot has been featured on over 45 albums, including Multi-Platinum Spiderman soundtrack and recently as guest vocalist on Bret Michaels’ (Poison) 2013 release “Jammin’ with Friends”. Coogan has numerous television appearances under his belt including "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno", "The Late Late Show" and "Good Morning America". With many tour stories to tell, Scot is a press and radio interview favorite, entertaining both hosts and listeners with his ability to imitate the voices of those in his stories. This unusual talent has also served him well on the stages of Las Vegas, where Scot engages audiences by performing in the vocal styling’s of over a dozen popular lead singers. Scot currently resides in Las Vegas, NV where he is a performer at Blue Man Group, Rock Star Counselor at Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp and sings our National Anthem at local sporting events. On September 16th, 2014, Scot’s latest project, Red Zone Rider, which also features guitar hero Vinnie Moore and bassist/vocalist Kelly Keeling, will release their debut self-titled album and plan to tour in 2015. Coogan has recently announced that he will be performing live once again with legendary Ace Frehley.
