About When trees leave Wolves

About WTLW Entombed from Sweden - Lars Petrov says: WTLW " Nice tune to drink to" Mustasch from Sweden - Ralf Gyllenhammar says: WTLW "Thats a killer man, a real rövspark (asskick) like we say in sweden!" Dezperadoz Germany - Alex Kraft says: WTLW "Hammer eigenständige Band mit wuchtigem, coolen internationalen Sound voll auf die Glocke!" Motorjesus from Germany - Chris "Howling" Birx says: WTLW „Die 5 Aachener Cowboys verwandeln jede Sumpflandschaft in brennenden Asphalt“ BIOGRAPHY These are some ways to describe the band’s mix of different influences. Metal, grunge, rock, as diverse as these genres, the band created their own sound in early 2011, that they call southern doom rock themselves. Nobody could pigeonhole them, so every single bit was created from scratch. Out of this thought, the band evolved to what is now known as „When Trees Leave Wolves“. 2011 Everything but unexperienced they put a concept on stage that eventually was known und remembered as „The Wolves“. Lionwolf, singer of the band, and The Leprechaun, bass, followed their guideline „It has to fit“ and smoothly found their way to the others. Thus, the lineup was rounded off by Orange Dragon (guitar), Izzy Grimm (guitar) and Ben (drums). The spirit was born. Just about three months later, the band presented their first set on stage. The „Aue Open-Air“ in Stolberg, Germany, with about a hundred guests was the ideal test run. Some club shows were to follow, thus, the band’s popularity grew. By the end of the year, they invited Björn Gooses (ex Night In Gales)with „The Very End“ to their hometown to fire up the cultic club „Nightlife“ (ex Ritz) together. 2012 The first shows of the year went off in the club „Oefenbunker“ in Landgraaf, Netherlands, and together with „Phoenix Rising“ and „The Kamikaze Kings“ in the „Roots Club“ in Mönchengladbach, Germany. After that, the band caught a headlining Position fro the „Aue Open-Air“, this time with more than 300 visitors. Since the band did’t have any CD of their own by then and the demand for it was increasing they decided to find a remedy to that problem. Their debut (4 tracks) was being provided by the band themselves. The idea was not to get public reviews and publicity but to explore their fan base for critique and suggestions. Hence, the second production is often mistaken as debut. Shorty after the recordings, Ben Richter left the band and, without further ado, was replaced with Thor. At record speed, he learned the set, played his first shows and the first music video was produced. After that, the band quickly returned to the studio. 2013 In March, WTLW started their production for „Resistor“ in a Studio in Duisburg, Germany. Therefore, Dennis Marschallik (Synasthasia, Blood of God) was asked to turn the knobs which was a lucky choice and yet another four-track-EP had seen the light of day. This time to showcase the band’s versatility. The feedback on the release-show on June 15th was very good, but WTLW wanted to also get some reactions from outside the city limits, whereupon magazines and zines gave outstanding critiques. In September, When Trees Leave Wolves released their second music video which the band produced sigle handedly along the way. Beside preparations for further live shows and this video production, they are eagerly writing on their upcoming long-player (anticipated late 2014). Outside of that, the band appeared on the charity festival „Rock against poverty“ (Rock gegen Armut) in Berlin, Germany, where they gained additional publicity. After everything that happened the band is certain: the wolf does not hide. He is out on a hunt for a strong partner to reach the next level. 2014 Working on the longplayer called " Thirteen Stars " and hitting the road as much as possible so far. In June they signed a worldwide record deal with 7hard records ( 7us media ) and a home was saved! When Trees Leave Wolves - Southern Doom Rock Metal - Aachen
