About Price Hill Duo
Cincinnati, OH is simmering with artistic momentum. Host city to Price Hill, one of the most eclectic neighborhoods in the country, seated at the intersection of urban creativity and spirited dedication to community, a vibrant music and arts scene is rising. From within this buzzing hive comes the Price Hill Duo, representing their neighborhood in name and in performance style - passionate, distinct and progressive. With a repertoire largely comprised of original arrangements by Laura Jekel, the Price Hill Duo brings the works of a variety of classical composers into a joyful new light.
*Fun fact: Laura and Jordana were college roommates at Indiana University!
Cellist Laura Jekel is the Director of Price Hill Will's creative placemaking program. She is the Founder and was Director for four years of MYCincinnati, a free youth orchestra program in Price Hill. Originally from Boston, she studied at Indiana University and Carnegie Mellon before leaving to teach and perform throughout South America. Laura freelances in the Cincinnati area, playing with regional orchestras such as the Dayton Philharmonic, Queen City Opera, and the Cincinnati Ballet Orchestra.
Jordana Greenberg is a multi-genred musician who has performed on five continents as a violinist and singer. Dubbed "one of the finest lyricists in the Americana world" (No Surf Review), Jordana is also the primary songwriter and founder of the internationally touring chamberfolk trio Harpeth Rising. She studied with Miriam Fried at both Indiana University and New England Conservatory in Boston. Jordana once won first place in her age division at a really hilly 5k race in Bedford, Indiana. She loves dogs, cooking and crocheting. A resident of of Price Hill since November 2016, she also brings her unique perspective and experience to MyCincinnati as a guest teaching artist.
