About Anhedonia (CA)
Formed in early 2013, Anhedonia is a grunge/sludge metal band that aims to create a sound that is gritty, dark, raw, and heavy. Distinctly combining elements of organic heavy metal instrumentation with the slow, abstract atmosphere of dark ambient and post-rock. The lyrical content reflects this dark, unrelenting environment with prose regarding urban life on the street. From sex and prostitution, over-the-counter drugs, alcohol, murder, abuse and suicide to wider philosophical themes on apathy, existential nihilism and self-destruction.
Having opened for local hard-hitters such as Legal Kill and Flidais, Anhedonia is well at work on a new EP entitled 'Nihilist Apathy' aiming for a release date in mid-spring of 2018, with many show dates to follow in the local area.
