The January Lanterns

The January Lanterns is an award-winning indie-folk duo created by husband-and-wife team Andrew and Kristen Camp. The high school sweethearts have navigated life’s highs and lows together and their music is a raw and heartfelt expression of their journey with bittersweet harmonies and poignant lyrics.

Based in Chicago, The January Lanterns’ music speaks to anyone who’s lived through love, loss, and the complex beauty of personal growth. Their second album, That’s What We’ll Be (2025) follows their debut LP, For The Kids, When They’re Older (2022), and several singles have paved the way for their evolving sound. In April 2026 "Take A Breather" was featured on ABC’s crime/drama series, R.J. Decker and their latest single “Fade” won the Grand Prize in the 2025 John Lennon Songwriting Contest.

That’s What We’ll Be offers a collection of stories about vulnerability, transformation, and embracing life’s uncertainties.

The duo’s single, “the kid that wrecked it all” was named in the top 12 songs at the 2024 Telluride Troubadour Songwriting Competition and The January Lanterns are also active in licensing their music for sync. Warner Chappell Production Music commissioned Andrew and Kristen to write a six song EP for their sync catalog. Since then those songs have been licensed in numerous TV shows around the world.
