About Damontae Scott

​From solo saxophone performance to playing in a big band, Damontae Scott is comfortable in a wide array of musical styles.
He has performed in many settings, including Cobb Energy Center for youth benefits, senior living homes, Mason Tavern with the Fran Lora Quartet (Atlanta, GA), the Velvet Note (Alpharetta, GA), Acworth Cultural Arts Center (Acworth, GA), Lobby Bar and Bistro @ Twelve Hotel in Atlantic Station (Atlanta, GA), Purple Corkscrew Wine Tasting (Brookhaven, GA), Red Brick Brewery (Atlanta, GA), Rio Night Club (Marietta, GA) and the Buckhead Theatre (Buckhead, GA).
Having performed with award winning British singer/songwriter/producer Julie Dexter, Mr. Scott is equally at home in the genres of Jazz, Funk, Pop, Hip-Hop or Rock.
Damontae draws influence from artists such as John Coltrane, Stan Getz, Jamiroquai, Stevie Wonder, Kendrick Lamar, Kamasi Washington and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
He is involved in a wide range of projects with bands in the metro-Atlanta area and has recently begun a project posting his original music on YouTube.
First showing musical interest in percussion, fate lead Damontae to the saxophone, and he is currently studying with Sam Skelton as he pursues his bachelor’s degree in Jazz Performance at Kennesaw State University.
With a deep interest in Japanese culture and language, Damontae plans one day to take his music to Japan.
