About Khasia
Khasia was formed in 2017.
Their music has a sound of 80/90’s Grunge with undertones of early 2000’s Reuben/Jamie Lenman and latter day Basement. Their sound is under pinned by a strong backbone of bass and drums that allows the vocals and rhythmic guitar work to sit over, to complete their sonically strong and energetic live experience.
Khasia’s songs are accented by powerful sing-a-long choruses that are only broken by sweet vocal tones describing a range of experiences from opinionated keyboard warriors, hidden romance to being drunk and nearly drowning in a hot tub.
October 2017 saw Khasia play their debut live set, opening for Redfaces (Sony, RCA) after which they played a number of local gigs at the higher end of local independent venue’s, such as The Craufurd Arms, Esquires, The Horn, as well as The Castle and others, supporting bands like Fizzy Blood, Redfaces for a second time, Nirvana UK and a handful of local winter festivals.
Early in 2018 Khasia recorded a demo of their song Taboo. Engineered by the band, in a mixture of rehearsal studios, bedrooms and living rooms, they had an initial mix made and after crowd requests for recorded music, the demo of Taboo was released at the end of July. The reception to this anthem has only served to further inspire the band. They start to record a series of future releases later this summer.
