Kemarly Dembroski Lindo (born September 10 1995) popularly known as ‘Kempo’ or ‘Gong Guru Maraj’ is a Jamaican born Reggae/Dancehall artist. He grew up in a family which transformed to the Rastafarian faith which made him exposed to cultural roots music which also inspires him to create music as such.
Kempo can be described as a very versatile musician as he is able to construct and deliver any form of content in any genre. His lyrical content revolves around themes of spiritual revival, anti-war, romantic declarations, resiliency and modern dancehall contents.
Kempo began song writing at a very tender age and due to his exposure to rooted reggae music, he was able to construct songs of deep inspiration, and songs that hit nail biting topics.
He started his recording career at the age 13, and now currently is said to have at least 2 albums set to release.
Kempo’s first full length studio Album was released on October 2, 2017. He described ‘The Gong Guru’ album as ‘Ancient sounds of Modern lyrics’. The album was released by Zojak worldwide on all digital platforms. The young Kempo continues to stay focus at creating compelling music and seeks to continue making a difference with his influence.
