About The 1930s
The 1930s are a Northern Irish folk duo made up of vocalist and guitarist, Jonny Solari and drummer and vocalist, Andrew Cameron. The lads have taken the UK scene by storm, captivating crowds with their edgy brand of folk rock, infectious melodies and fixating harmonies. The band have showcased their talents by appearing on BBC NI television and BBC radio 1 introducing, as well as other radio stations across the UK. In their live show, The 1930s have plenty to offer, sometimes hauling in a full band of their musician friends, other times performing an intimate, acoustic show. Having completed several UK tours, and played in high profile shows alongside acts such as 'The Staves', 'Admiral Fallow', 'Bear's Den' and 'Matt Corby', The 1930s have their sights set on big things. Not to mention appearances at many summer festivals including Greenbelt (UK), Body & Soul (IRE) and Glasgowbury (UK). The band have recently released part one of the 'Blood & Water' EP series, which is available on iTunes, Bandcamp and Spotify, and are currently writing and recording for the next installment. PRESS The 1930s write fist in the air, hug your brother music. Lyrically ahead of the game. A top band you NEED in your life. - PHIL TAGGART, BBC RADIO 1 Forget the 1930s, these guys are bang up to date and in your face. An awesome, clean and chirpy plateful of tunes, with a helpful garnish of thoughtful lyrics, bashed about my ears when I plugged these guys in and it greatly met with my approval. - BEN SUNDERLAND, FOR FOLK SAKE Twitter: @the1930s Blood & Water I out now, Listen: http://the1930s.bandcamp.com/album/blood-water-i
