About Diamond Norvell
Diamond Norvell's passion for music started in the early ages of her life. Going back and forth from her Mother (who was a non commissioned officer in the US army at the time) and her Grandmother who lived in Dallas texas. Diamond loved all of the music her mother played in her car and most songs on the radio which back then and as we know today '90s music!'
The fuel set Diamonds fire off at the age of ten where she first discovered her idol of music "Da Brat" on Lil' Bow Wows Doggy Bag album. Da Brat's sick flow mixed with catchy rhymes changed Diamonds life and her outlook on music forever. That is when Diamond got a hold of all Da Brat's albums, LPs, etc plus any other 90s music CDs that she could abduct from her parents and download from the internet. Diamond was an outcast child due to her sexuality, tomboy appearance and interest in women so her relationship with her parents wasn't so good and the only outlet Diamond had to cope with things was music and writing. She used this gift that was placed inside of her to tell her story and before she knew it, her peers where coming to her asking her to write songs and poems for their lives and significant others.
Diamond never stopped writing and at the age of 16 is when she met her father Eugene Jackson. Diamond's father was also musically inclined producing elevator and lounge type instrumentals so when they met, the chemistry was as strong as ever. Diamond's engineering and producing skills weren't awoken until her father left her home alone with his Logic studio program as he went to run some errands. 16 years old, never had used Logic Pro ever, Diamond produced a full song titled "Bounce Bounce" including the beat by the time her father had got back home she blew his mind away with her tunes. From then on she never stopped producing whenever she had her fathers computer and once she joined the military at the age of 18, she too bought her own Mac Book and continued her journey with music. One deployment to Iraq and an overseas tour, the military did not work out for the young lady who was then 21 years young, no education, no job but a whole lot of bills. The final tug was pulled and that is when Diamond realized that it was time for her to make a career and life out of what it was she was put on this Earth to do. Music.
