About Seconds From Disaster

After 17 years of being a vocalist, Brian Chaunce decided it was time for a change, jumping back behind the guitar and began his search for new people to jam with in the summer of 2016. That's when he ran into vocalist Mark Gelinas on his way to work one morning. Not seeing each other for quite a few years they began talking about musical projects they were interested in doing and figured this was a good place to start. He then began his search for a decent drummer with potential and was told from a coworker about his neighbor Orazio Valetta. Being curious, Brian set up his amp and a drum kit in his apartment and invited Orazio over to jam out some ideas to feel it out. They both agreed they wanted to work together so Mark was then contacted to jam. Brian had his mind set on having another guitarist in the band. He tried to have a couple guitarists come jam but wasn't successful, so Mark suggested his longtime friend Ryan Ibarra to try out. Once Ryan had heard what was written, he jumped on his guitar and immediately started writing his parts for what became their first song "To the Wolves" and everything just clicked in that moment. It wasn't long before Brian's close friend Essy Banisaied was recruited on bass. Now all that was left to figure out was a name. They fell on the name StrapLocked but due to unforeseen issues they were forced to change it and adopted a name suggested by Brian's friend, Jeff. Now that a name was set in stone, Seconds from Disaster (“SFD”) was born. SFD has since acquired a sound of their own combining their metal roots with heavy breakdowns and their own unique styles resulting in a burst of energy screaming through every riff. SFD is determined to make an impact in the music scene and will stop at nothing to achieve just that.

On January 1st, 2019, Seconds from Disaster released their first single “Demons Within” which can be found on Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, ReverbNation, BandCamp and many more.
