About Jenny Kohls Band
Jenny Kohls has worked hard to get to where she is now. Her songwriting style has created quite the buzz in the local music scene and now with a full band, the sky is the limit.
At 19 she began her music career as the backing guitar player in a band called Face April, a Des Moines-based rock band. Fast-forward to today, Jenny has written well over thirty (something) songs, has spent some time touring and is now the front woman of her own band, Jenny Kohls Band. The accompanying musicians of JKB are a rotating cast of players with years of experience in music education and touring. Their contributions to these songs are what give the music a life all it's own. Sometimes you'll catch Jenny playing with Jen, Renee and Steph and other shows you'll find her playing with Scott and Russ.
To date Jenny has released two independent records, Whiskey Nights & Bright Lights (2010) and Songbird (2015). Her third release is expected during the winter months of 2017.
Songwriting accomplishments include two songs placed in an indie film (At-Risk Summer by E.e. Charlton-Trujillo) and another song used as the backing track for a Planned Parenthood of the Heartland radio ad across the state of Iowa in 2017.
