About Fernando Silverio Solis

Fernando Solis born May 15th, 1986, was raised in the city of Flint, MI. With a town that could provide a history class of its own, one should not be surprised that a song writer would emerge with a hunger and drive in the likeness of that of the city he dwells. Fernando Solis plunges the listener into moments of weakness before leaving them blindsided with topics of strength and love. After releasing 'This Is How You Remember Me' under the name Bella and the Pelican, Solis began to release a series of songs he recorded before and after 'This Is How You Remember Me.' Where 'This Is How You Remember Me' displayed a more orchestrated style of music through the accompaniment of electric guitar, bass, drums, organ, and cello; Solis's releases that followed were beginning to sound more stripped down, requiring less and less in order to relay the moods of his songs to the listener. The result was the June 9th, 2012 release of 'Fernando,' a carefully crafted EP compiled of delicately composed finger-picking and hushed harmonies that see a likeness to Elliott Smith and Iron & Wine. Solis collaborated with fellow Flint native artists Carl Art and Ashley Peterfi to create the short film 'Memories.' 'Memories' is the interpretation of the EP 'Fernando' as perceived by Art and Peterfi. Both 'Fernando' and 'Memories' were released June 9th 2012. Following the release of the 'Fernando' EP, Solis appeared on NBC 25 on July 5th 2012 to perform a live set and promote his newest release alongside 'Memories.' Fernando Solis is currently performing live shows in support of his latest endeavor as he prepares for a follow up release. I'm Fernando. Singer, songwriter, life ruiner.
