I'll be direct: the Avey Grouws Band's farewell show at BB's Lawnside BBQ was one of the best live music experiences I've had in Kansas City! They didn't just play their last show, they absolutely crushed it. Every note completely electric. But here's what you really need to know: Jeni Grouws is the real deal. Commanding stage presence, soulful beyond measure, the kind of performer you don't forget. The band is breaking up, and that's a genuine loss. Whatever she does next, follow it closely. You'll thank me later! We will miss you guys. Come back and play sometime! Please? **, Anne

As usual fantastic musical talent, but the best part is the great interaction and the unique talents of all members of the band to interact with both new and old fans. —- making everyone feel like old friends.

What an amazing combination of talent…Jeni’s powerhouse voice, Chris’ jamming guitar, top off this awesome band!! Love that they write their own songs, yet comfortably ripped into some great classic rock n roll songs just for fun! And to top it off they hail from my hometown! Loved the backyard party! I had a great afternoon!! By the way, one of Jeni’s songs brought me to tears… not the sentiment of the words, but her amazing voice! WOW! Thanks!

Fabulous show! Jeni and Chris countine to provide great entertainment each time I see them. I hope Sargents North invites them back for their kick off season in 25. I had never been to Sargents Smooth Events, but I'd definitely return if Avey Grouws performs. Great garden setting. Great music. Great combination. Fantastic entertainment!

AGB put on an excellent show despite a couple of rain showers. Came back out and played their asses off for a small crowd that hung around after the rain. This band is very talented. We plan our trips to visit friends and family in the Quad Cities when we know AGB is going to be playing. Hopefully we will be seeing them in Chicago soon.

The Avery Grouws band was amazing at Jalapeño Pete’s on August 16, 2024. They are a great band that sing blues music too! I went to the State Fair mostly to see this band.. stayed for the entire show! Please bring them back to Jalapeño Pete’s, again, in 2025! They are my favorite band to listen to in the Des Moines area…amazing vocals and serious guitar playing!! A great band with amazing heart as well!❤️

I originally went in memory of my good friend Lisa Raischel who absolutely loved this band but by the end of the show I was/am a Big Fan now too!!! What a bunch of talent they packed into this 4 piece band!!! Check em' out!!!

First time I saw them live and I was very impressed by their versatility and creativity. It was very impressed by an improve jam session they did with musicians in the audience. I love Avery’s voice and range. It was fun to have her daughter perform for a few songs.

The venue was smaller than we expected, but the band is always to engaged with the audience that the smaller room made it feel like we were at a personal concert. Absolutely one of our favorite bands to see!!

The band was fantastic! I cannot wait to hear them again! I think an outdoor venue would be even more fun, allowing for more room to get up and dance. Jeni's voice is outstanding, I could listen all night! Such talented musicians, too! Incredible.

The show they put on was nothing less than SPECTACULAR!!! The music was fabulous and the lead guitarist was very good! I could not understand him when he was singing though. The lead singer really knows how to sing Blues. She was a joy to listen to. I will see them again when I get a chance.

Awesome show every time! They are amazing. The entire group! They are legit rock stars. No doubt about it! Definitely on their way to super stardom!! Chris Avey can shred on lead guitar! His talent is second to none!! Jeni Grouws will blow away with her amazing and powerful voice. Bryan West on the drums! He'll beat skins off of em. A true rock star drummer and even better person! Calvin Johnson crushing it on the bass and Leo ripping on the keyboards. They are OFF THE CHARTS!! (Their album Tell Tale Heart debuted at #7 on the Blues Billboard Chart, middle of last year. Their first album debuted at #10 on the Blues Billboard Chart in 2020. So actually, they are all over the charts. Lol) I highly recommend, if they tour in your area, to go see their show. Don't miss it! You will not be disappointed. And ya just might get hooked on them, like so many others of us, and join The Avey Grouws Posse!!

The band was great, as always, but the venue left a lot to be desired. There was little seating. The acoustics weren't great, what with the interfering noise from behind us (completely not the band's fault). Mostly we couldn't stand the smoke and had to leave.

OMG. Avey Grouws Band blew the doors off the Blackhawk! Jeni was in great voice, she was powerful. Chris really cut loose in the band's second set and I thought smoke was going to come out of his guitar! All four members were top-notch performers and I doubt you can find another band with such perfect technique, sound, music and FUN!!

The show was EXCELLENT! I have been following Chris Avey for probably 20 years! The addition of Jenny Grouws has been wonderful! They just keep getting better and better! Highly recommended! A must see!

The band was absolutely amazing! The talent exhibited was exceptional with each band member showing unbelievable expertise. Chris Avey played the guitar like he was born with the instrument in his hands. His well toned experience was evident with each note. The powerhouse voice of Jeni Grouws was overwhelmingly great. Her ability to "tell the story" through her singing and writing is amazing. All this while engaging the crowd's participation and enthusiasm equals a fun evening. This group's fan base continues to grow, and it is fun to watch their excitement and devotion. Can't get enough of this band!

I love every opportunity to listen to this band share their talents with us. Sunday B****y Marys and Blues gives the fans all over the world an opportunity to listen to great music and be entertained by Jeni trying to stop Chris from saying anything too inappropriate (not sure Jeni had any control of him this weekend). It's unfortunate that Jeni's voice is worn out by the time Sunday comes around, but the fact that the band is performing so often now is freakin' awesome. Keep up the great music and entertainment. Your fans love you.

Simply love this band, especially their heart and effort. They aim to do everything they can to entertain us - their fans - despite multiple shows over the past week. They obviously hit their tipping point as both singers lost their voices (okay, Princess was maybe going through puberty again) and fingers not quite hitting the right guitar strings. Even without their best singing and guitar playing capabilities, the small talk and effort were truly enough to entertain me for 1 hour on a Sunday afternoon. Thanks so much for your willingness to share your talents with your "original online pandemic fans". Thanks for your awesome talents, sincerity, passion and love for your fans. K.A.
