Jesse Sheppard

It takes a lot of strength and self-discovery to move away from home and venture to a new town, let alone the music capital of the world, Nashville, TN with no job, a handful of songs and a guitar. Like the hundreds that migrate to town, only a few survive on persistency, talent, and passion. When music is ingrained in who you are, you’ll do everything in your power to see it grow and watch your dreams flourish. For singer/songwriter, Jesse Sheppard he discovered music at an early age, fell in love with singing and playing guitar, even toured the country in a pop-rock band, but it wasn’t until his move to Nashville that he found a deep appreciation for the art of constructing music and lyrics. Upon moving, Jesse took his passion for life, his surroundings and the unique moments to carefully construct songs with a purpose. He released “Run Away” and “Best View” with significant praise from The Boot and Taste of Country, but something was missing. The “why” of who he was and what set him apart was a discovery that couldn’t happen over night. While it was a learning process, Jesse quickly realized to tell a good story, you have to live it first and in order to do that he needed to take a step back. He set off to find this inner purpose and began leading worship at his church and equivalates that time to where he found who he is as a person and why he loves music. He came to an understanding that it was not about him but something much bigger than himself, the stories of those around him and how those lyrics would impact others. A fiery urge to write songs for others, to share these unequivocal stories, and bring back the essence of storytelling is what Jesse is all about. With the sonic undertones of pure country sounds, Jesse melds a splash of folk and soul in to his styles with clever lyrical rhyming of his most trivial moments in life and those around him.
