Cigarbox Man

Cigarbox Man is a new addition to the bay area music scene. Felipe Ubeda, a Chilean of Palestinian heritage, is a skilled craftsman. His passion for music was first unpacked when following a rush of inspiration he began digging through the trash and found the igredients necessary to make his own unique instrument, a Cigarbox Guitar. Using all recycled materials he developed his prototype and began perfecting both it’s construction and his musical ideas. To test it out he stepped into the subway station sof his home city and started showing it off to the passers by. After being discovered by Universal Musical while busking, he was offered a deal that allowed him to get his psychedelic rock band afloat, quickly rising among the ranks of Santiago Chile’s club and festival scene.

He has since relocated to the bay area to further dive into songwriting and production with a few local legends. Tomas Salcedo (Fantastic Negrito), Nahuel Bronzini (Fantastic Negrito, Toni Tone Toné), Thomas Pridgen (Mars Volta, Residente), Karl Perazzo (Santana) and Uriah Duffy (Whitesnake, Fantastic Negrito) have all graced his upcoming album with their talents. On this occasion he will be gracing Late Saturdaze with a blistering psychedelic set of Cigarbox Man Electronica, his unique blend of roots, heavy beats and synths.
