When two great vocalists and songwriters come together, bridging not only cities and regions, but genres as well, nothing but greatness can come from it. And so it is with Duocity (pronounced doo-AH-sit-EE): Claudia Melton of Corpus Christi, TX and D Maurice “DMo!” Macklin of Chicago, IL, come together to bring a new and unique sound for the soul genre and the next generation of music. Claudia and DMo’s story begins in the most likeliest of places, their mutual admiration of each other’s careers. “I first met Claudia after watching her perform in Dallas. I immediately knew she was a force to be reckoned with.” And so it was with Claudia as well. “I first saw DMo performing behind Eric Roberson. He made an impression on me. We had no choice but to meet.” Duocity’s journey would continue as Claudia and DMo would witness each other’s talents over the years, until it made sense that they should bring those amazing talents together. Claudia’s wide-ranging musical sensibilities and DMo’s smooth vocals and introspective lyrics make a formidable combination, the likes which haven’t been seen in some time.
