Starting as a 3 piece, the band gained a local reputation for uncompromising live shows, intelligent song writing and catchy yet heavy riffs, playing shows supporting bigger local Scottish acts such as Carnivores, Make Sparks and LightGuides. Following a movement of operations from Fife to Glasgow, the band increased their profile by opening for notable local and touring acts such as More Than Conquerors, Former Monarchs and PAWS. At the start of 2013, Felix Champion decided to recruit another guitarist to bring further creative potential to the band and build upon the sound they had established. They recruited fellow Fife musician and friend, Dave Rees. With this new line up, the band completed their debut self-titled EP. Felix Champion released their debut single, “New York Minute” in July of 2013, to rave reviews. The track was played several times on the BBC Introducing show, made its way onto the Vic Galloway “Introducing Scotland” podcast and received positive reviews from bloggers, fellow musicians and promoters alike. The band then released their debut self-titled EP in August 2013. Since its release, Felix Champion have gone on to support Axis Of, Marmozets, Let’s Talk Daggers and have completed Scottish tours with Northern Irish band Two Glass Eyes and local legends Penguins Kill Polar Bears. On the back of this released material, Felix Champion continued their ferocious live shows encompassing an ability to move seamlessly between brutal hardcore and anthemic sing-a-long choruses. This has led to comparisons being drawn between themselves and post-hardcore acts such as Reuben, Funeral For A Friend, early Biffy Clyro, Pulled Apart by Horses and Fightstar. What some folks have to say about us "Absolutely massive!!!" - Ally McCrae (BBC Radio 1) "I liked that a lot." - Jen Long (BBC Radio 1) "Felix Champion don’t show any mercy here and when a one bar drum interlude plunges you into cascade of brutal riffs, pounding drums and screaming vocals" - Rave Child review of New York Minute "They are now in the running for being the hottest new comer in the Glasgow scene with their incredible live shows and unstoppable momentum" - Justice Never Sleeps LISTEN: https://soundcloud.com/felix-champion DOWNLOAD: http://felixchampion.bandcamp.com/album/this-lateral-life
