About Tooshoes

As a pedidextrous child, options were vast early on for Tooshoes. After a childhood spent listening to music and pondering his purpose in life, the audio emitting from his record player metaphorically slapped him in the face. Then and there a decision was made to produce the very music he loved. The next six months were spent recording bird noises, bodily sounds and finger tapping onto his computer, inadvertently giving the ambitious youngster a feel for all things music. Tooshoes would spend his Saturday’s selling CD’s of his recordings to kids with rich parents, intent on making a life out of the music he couldn’t stop playing. He didn’t know it then, but he was right in ignoring his parents recommendations of finding a real job. Fast-‐forward to the present and things have come a long way. Too busy to complain about everyone being a DJ, the Brisbane native set out spice up his live show late in 2011. After fire twirling was deemed a safety hazard, confetti cannons were impractical and a dancing albatross stagehand wasn’t financially viable -‐ the Emulator was born. A synthesis of sound and visuals, the new live show has done for Tooshoes music what round white pills have done for people who like raving until 5am. Appealing to music savvy sobers and people too drunk to function alike, his stage presence is yet another facet of the Tooshoes moniker that deems him unique. Anything short of a Chuck Norris dance cameo will fail in topping a live Tooshoes set. Just ask Julia Gillard, who was rumored to have booked him for a bar mitzvah many years ago. Tooshoes foray into the production realm was thrust atop an equally impressive pedestal. Described by late night aficionados as an aural blowjob on amphetamine riddled steroids, the ubiquitous values of his music has seen it spread faster than the current late night promoter epidemic. From a potion of club sweat, Vodka Red Bulls and the bodies of punters who always bugged him for free drinks, the first Tooshoes original was born. An eclectic blend of mainroom house and annoy-‐your-‐neighbours-‐bass culminates in a sound that’s identifiable in all the right ways. It’s the kind of music that doesn’t take a savvy marketing campaign to reach people. Just the way us average folk like it, right? Blended iPhones on which Justin Bieber requests were once displayed form the basis of his current no holds barred attitude. It’s likely that this attitude will continue to separate him from the masses of people who choose to pursue a similar path to the man in question. The fans of the present drown out our foresight of Tooshoes in the future, but if his past is anything to go by, making assumptions is naïve. The future is bright for this kid and we gladly welcome the first speaker of the negative team to try and debate this with us.
