Zino and The Bel Aires

The formation of Zino and the Bel Aires was due to two main factors. First, I began teaching the history of rock and roll at my high school and second I met an English teacher who could sing. After specializing in classical guitar for almost 20 years, I decided to pull the Gretch guitar out of its case and build a band around the singer Matt (Zino) Avanzino. We have been fortunate to play some very exciting events and as we enter our third year we have definite goals for improvement. The inspiration for music from the 1950s is based on the "dance factor" and the social history of the United States.
