About The Milkshake Strategy

In the early months of 2010, Alex McGleave (Vocals/Programming), Mark Flanders (Guitar), Callum Whitehead (Keys/Synths), Chris Gardiner (Bass), Callum Walters (Drums/Vocals) and Evan Pratt (Guitar) met at their local TAFE. With ideas flowing and music to be written, they formed The Milkshake Strategy. For the rest of 2010, The Milkshake Strategy burst onto the scene with a set of hard hitting songs and a huge string of shows to get their name out, finishing the year on a high. To start off the New Year, the boys released their first line of merchandise with a launch show at HQ. With a bunch of great bands, it was an unforgettable show that made people see that The Milkshake Strategy were on their way to the top. 2011 was also the year that The Milkshake Strategy entered the 18+ scene, supporting such bands as "For All Eternity", "Still Water Claims", "In League" just to name a few. Their most memorable show being at local club night "Oh Snap!" where they were main support for Perth legends "Break Even" and blew away the crowd. Half way through 2011, The Milkshake Strategy hit the studio with Jay Huxtable of Oracle Studios (Still Water Claims, Anchored, Tremors, Paradise in Exile) to record their debut EP. With a few weekends, 100 or so pictures, a bit of video-ing and a lot of hard work, it was completed and the boys are set to release the EP in the upcoming months. The end of 2011 also brought an end to an era with the saddening departure of both Evan Pratt and Callum Walters from The Milkshake Strategy. This left the boys with the ever so painful task of looking for replacements. With this, Callum Whitehead moved from Keys/Synths to the position of Drums and Vocals. Luckily for The Milkshake Strategy, Chad Lambert (The Main Attraction) was willing to help the boys out with any shows as a fill in. This line up stuck. With Chad officially joining the band at their headline show at HQ in December. Since then, The Milkshake Strategy has had a burst back onto the scene in 2012. With a fresh run of shows, the EP slowly coming over the horizon and new material such being written, the boys are looking to conquer the year and get back to the high point they were at not too long ago.
