Kurt Vile

Some bands have confetti, balloons and smoke, but Kurt just plays his songs, no messing around, and that’s fine by me as he is a great guitarist who sings with feeling and seems to love what he is doing. Tight band, good songs, great show.

Kurt Vile was amazing. He put on a great opening set of about 8-9 songs. So glad I was able to see Kurt Vile and the Violators! The Filmore is a great venue. It was clean, the staff were incredibly friendly and the sound was great.

Kurt Vile's set at Bluesfest Ottawa was brilliant in the blazing sun before sunset. It was a straight up treat for the ears. His band was tight and crisp and seriously complementing the guitar virtuosity of the Vile style. The crowd loved it. An excellent performance. A+

The Belly Up is always a great venue to see a show. Kurt Vile connected to the audience through his music, doing little if any commentary between songs. He and his band were engaging from the opening chord to the closing note. I wouldn't hesitate to get tickets to see him again when he returns. The selection of the warm up band, Lilliana Villines, was an excellent choice. Villines and her band shared something both in performance style and composition with a vein of Kurt Vile's music.

Was so impressed with the show. Kurt engaged with the crowd and his guitar skills are so intriguing to watch. His quirky style is the best. The whole band is full of great talent. I was disappointed the venue wasn’t full, but selfishly I liked not being crowded up near the stage too. Don’t miss him if he’s in your town.

Kurt Vile was awesome along with the Violators, Stage Crew and opening band Florry! My last three concerts have been Joe Bonamassa, Joe Satriani/ Stevie Vai and now Kurt Vile. How lucky can one man GET!!?

Fast, friendly, punctual entry to venue. Opener: Weak Signal was a fun, enjoyable surprise. KV & the band were super. Clear, crisp, & clean acoustics. Setlist was excellent mix of KV standards, oldies, deep cuts & new songs! Lights & backdrop perfect blend of playful, colorful & dramatic! Thanks Newport Music Hall & Kurt Vile for a lovely & memorable evening of rocknroll!

Finally got a chance to see the king of my personal playlist with his band. My god are they good! Captivating, making me love life, witnessing a special moment of music. Thank you Kurt Vile and the Violators.

Super nice venue- 2 bars and a really decent selection of everything, plus sweet acoustics (in this non-audiophile opinion). Staff was helpful, available when needed, and very nice folks ta’ boot. The opener, Julia Shapiro, was fantastic, and Kurt Vile definitely got my booty dancing. Would not hesitate to go back to the venue, and I’m already looking forward to seeing both bands again!

Kurt was amazing, as always! Such a brilliant artist. The only disappointment was in the venue. The show was moved from Paristown Hall to Headliners Music Hall, a much smaller venue. Like other shows I've been to there, people were packed in pretty tight, so moving around or getting a drink is a challenge. Plus there were ticketing issues and we had to go through a process to get our ticketmaster tickets changed over to eTix. Just a minor inconvenience but they wouldn't let some people in who had bought tix through StubHub or other 3rd party sites. Plus the staff were sort of rude and shamed the couple in front of us for not buying tickets directly from the venue. In summary, 5 stars for Kurt Vile but 3 stars for the venue. Probably my last show at Headliners. Hopefully, no more shows get moved there.

Kurt Vile and the Violators were great, amazing sound! Venue was cute and supplied us with replacement tickets easily! The wait between the support and Kurt was too long but that's the only negative.

Kurt was nice and H’d out crankin’ the hitz. Natural information society the bad the opened was acid itself. I vocally said” Hell yes to all of this.” out loud during the open where the quintet played a squeeze box and some sort of oval leather bass a clarinet. It was utter captain Beefheart madness . And boy I b*t that as some expensive horse our boy Kurt was on… high performance skag. Allowed him do Loading zones strong and early. Thrashed on the axe too throughout the concert . 5 f*****g stars. Way to go Kurt. Way to go me.

Kurt Vile was so good! I have never seen him perform live before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. He has an interesting stage presence and I loved how he interacted with the crowd. Very happy I got a chance to see. I was in the Orchestra Left section, row M and the view of the stage was pretty good.

Kurt and the Violators were great, but the sound was not setup well at the venue for the vocals. Drums were a little hot and the vocals were muddy. It was unexpected because we’ve seen other shows there and the sound has been excellent.

Excellent show, played songs from throughout his career. KV has a low-key stage presence but the music is overwhelmingly awesome. Felt it in my bones, from the balcony. Fox Theater is the best venue!

Très bon show, Kurt Vile était en super forme de même que les Violators, nous avons eu droit à de généreux solos de guitare. 30$ pour un spectacle de cette qualité, difficile d'avoir mieux. Seul bémol, certains spectateurs qui semblent être présent seulement pour prendre un verre et jaser, ils sont vraiment dérangeant pendant les chansons plus douces. Allez-donc dans les endroits prévus à cet effet et laissés les vrais amateurs de musique apprécier le spectacle.

Great show by Kurt and the Violators. This was my 4th concert and he never disappoints. He did a healthy selection of songs from the new album and some hits mixed in along the way. Can’t wait till he comes around here again.

Incredible. I was on first row. So cool to see him work so up close. The sound was incredible and the music was awesome. I liked how he changed the songs a bit from the original.
