About The Interceptors (AUS)

The Interceptors are an energetic Melbourne based power punk trio. The band in their own words have played a wide variety of venues in Melbourne. But it doesn’t stop there, they have played interstate and made the leap to tour New Zealand. These fellas serve up some high-energy punk, dishing it out the way it was meant to be: raw, nasty and with plenty of attitude...

The Interceptors formed in 2012 with band members blasting in from 3 different corners of the globe, guitarist and vocalist Simon White hails originally from New Zealand, the drums are provided by Richard Noble from England and the bassist Niall Kenno is of Irish origin. Their music has been described as the spirit, essence and ethos of the emerging punk bands of the UK and Northern Ireland in 1978 but with a 21st century twist.

The Interceptors first demo CD, which includes their anthem hit ‘Murrumbeena’, is now sold out on Bandcamp but available from all the main online digital stores.

Armed with perfect, power-punk masterpieces, The Interceptors have played the main stage at Melbourne’s iconic White Night festival, topped Reverbnation’s local chart, added three tracks to the soundtrack of Mat De Koning ‘s iconic punk biopic ‘Meal Tickets’ premiered at the Melbourne International Film Festival in 2016. The band have enjoyed airtime as far away as USA, Canada, South Africa, UK and Europe as well as locally in Australia with PBS, RRR and as featured band of the week with 3D radio in Adelaide.

The band are currently writing and demoing songs for their next recording project and booking fly in fly out gigs in Australian major cities as well as potential international tours.

This collective experience makes The Interceptors one of the most exciting live and energetic talented acts in the music scene today.
