About The Making
Grunge-laced Indie Rock with melodies, hooks and splashings of electronica, The Making are a quartet making loud noises in the humble surroundings of the Shropshire countryside. New single, Signals, available for FREE DOWNLOAD here - https://soundcloud.com/themakinglive/signals "The band’s latest offering, ‘Signals’, sees dirty and distorted guitars combine with heavy and steady drum beats, accompanied by a hefty and hooky sing-a-long chorus. Chiming refrains meet melodic backing vocals that continue to echo long after the track ends." Counteract Magazine "It seems that the band surgically extract riffs from the 1960’s rock’n’roll playbook, transplant them into an indie back line, mix in the occasional burst of electronica, layer it all with a generous helping of teenage angst et voila: that is their modus operandi. Oh, and by the way, it works brilliantly." Shropshire Star "The grunge opening reminded me of classic Bush, while the aggressive opening vocals had a punk element that is neatly offset by an anthemic chorus and some radio friendly “woo hoo”-ing. It all comes together very nicely, confidently straddling all of the genres that The Making are aiming for. They’re a band to keep an eye on. Rating: 3.5 out of 5" indieLONDON "The 45, and Act Your Age rounded off a fantastic performance from a band who after this gig will have gained a lot more fans and will soon be rightfully noticed by the right people and get signed up." A Music Blog, Yea? "It seems to fit the description of 'Grunge-laced Indie Rock with melodies, hooks and splashings of electronica' nicely. This particular track has a rawer punkier feel to it than the laid back slacker grunge of most B-town. Its got some big riffs some who-ho-ho-hooo's and plenty of attitude, not to mention a nice little solo." The B-Town Blog "Even words such as charsmatic, competant and compelling don’t quite cut it when it comes to describing our headlining band, The Making, as these guys really do have that special something." music224.com "Stonking" BBC Shropshire Introducing Grunge-laced Indie Rock with melodies, hooks and splashings of electronica.
