About Mismatched Black
Mismatched Black is a rock band from Orange County, California. Their driving beats and melodic leads, accompanied by lyrics that straddle the line between suburban angst and dive bar antics, make them one of the most exciting new bands to enter the OC music scene.
Their debut demo album, composed of four original songs (“When I was King” “Villain” “No Mercy” and “Cheapen This”) and an amped up cover of Paul Simon’s “Duncan,” demonstrates their vision for the future.
Their music incorporates strong lyrical story lines and memorable guitar hooks on top of a punchy rhythm section. The chorus of “No Mercy” clearly sums up the sentiment many rock lovers feel these days with the lyrics, “Why doesn’t anybody play rock and roll anymore?”
Taking inspiration from Tom Petty, Social Distortion, Wilco, Ryan Adams and Kings of Leon, they seamlessly compose music that is both classic and current.
Mismatched Black is composed of lead singer, songwriter and rhythm guitarist, Brason Alexander. On lead guitar is Nick Locey. Drums are played by Josh Berzansky. Stephen Wagner plays bass to round out the four-piece rock band.
