About Bad Habitat

“ A high-energy rap trio that bounces from carefree bars to intense syllable-play with the dexterity of young Mario, the group is a favorite in Portland's underground rap scene.” Fahiym B. Acuay - The Oregonian “...this band is amazing. A true show stopper, their three-front attack is unrelenting... Driving with an unequaled momentum this band controlled the stage and had the house enthralled... If you haven’t checked out this band do yourself a favor and pop over to their website...” Mark A. Lawrence IV - By The Light of the Stereo “These guys have a strong dynamic together, between harder verses and humor, and clearly they have a great time throwing down for their crowd…” Daniel M Landolt-Hoene, Oregon Music News * * * Forming early in the summer of 2008, Dru Manchu, Nick Fury, and Trafek have since stolen hundreds of shows, amassed a loyal fan base, and built a reputation as one of the hardest working groups in Portland, Oregon's ever growing hip hop scene. Intent on making intelligent, blue collar, high energy music, Bad Habitat has developed an aggressive, progressive sound that incorporates real life lyricism mixed with over the top braggadocio and an original flavor of beats (primarily provided in-house by Fury and Trafek, under the aliases of Flawless and Matt Murdock, respectively). Since incorporating DJ Andy Stack into their ranks in early 2014, Bad Habitat boasts over a half a century of stage experience collectively, and comes equipped with a dynamic live show and original sound, reminiscent of the noise you hear when your roof is being torn the fuck off. * * * “Their wonderfully refreshing sound has the energy of classic hip-hop without relinquishing any street cred. With powerfully tight verses delivered with point blank precision this local trio is gaining well deserved attention.” Mark A. Lawrence IV - By The Light of the Stereo * * * Armed with a well polished, high energy live show, aggressive delivery and creative rhymes, Bad Habitat boasts a resume that includes sharing the stage with some of the most respected mainstream and independent hip hop acts in the game, including Snoop Dogg, Slick Rick, Scarface, Pharoahe Monch, Masta Ace, Kool Keith, The Luniz, Nappy Roots, RA The Rugged Man, The Alchemist, Rahzel, Canibus, Bone Thugs, Sir Mix-A-Lot, Gift of Gab, Del the Funky Homosapien, Heiroglyphics, Awol-One, 2Mex, The Shapeshifters, Ceschi, Digital Underground, Abstract Rude, Living Legends, Dem Atlas, Madchild, Mickey Avalon, The Beatnuts, and more, as well as many notable acts from their home region of the Pacific Northwest, including local heavyweights Macklemore, XP, Common Market, Sandpeople, Illmaculate, The Chicharones, Grayskul, Speaker Minds, Serge Severe, Hanif, and Cool Nutz. Not content to remain idle for long, Bad Habitat has rocked crowds up and down the West Coast, from The Bay to Seattle, and is constantly expanding their reach, always on the hunt for new roofs to remove.
