Civil War

Formed in the ashes of Sydney melodic giants Persist, Civil War is a metallic hardcore outfit that combines the riffs and aggression of late 80’s thrash with the unpredictable energy of early hardcore, building heavily upon the foundations created by their New York predecessors, Leeway, Cro-Mags and Anthrax. Upon forming in early 2011, the band released a well received 5-song demo and began furiously playing at any bar, club or floor that would have them including opening slots for bands that include Cruel Hand, Bitter End and Xibalba. 2012 saw the band open Resist Record’s annual Hardcore Festival and record the follow up to their demo, a 4-song seven inch entitled ‘Jaded Minds’, a record that takes the band’s thrash-laden sound even further, incorporating harder hitting riffs, socially conscious lyrics and an overarching sense of darkness.
