About Innocent Tyler
Innocent Tyler is a 3 piece pop punk band currently based out of Northwest Arkansas and Dallas, TX. Their debut EP Make A Scene is Produced by Luis Cabezas (of The Dollyrots) and mixed by John Fields (All Time Low, Goo Goo Dolls, Jimmy Eat World), with a music video for the single “Bree” directed by Jaret Reddick (of Bowling For Soup). The release is currently receiving airplay on Sirius/XM Satellite Radio and will be supported by upcoming US tour dates.
Innocent Tyler is the brainchild of Vincent Tyler, formed in Northwest Arkansas in 2016. “I realized my dream of becoming a musician at 9 years old,” says Vincent. “When I met Jaret Reddick of Bowling for Soup, I was the youngest kid at the show by at least a decade, and I knew every word to every song. I saw him on stage that night with his crazy hair and guitar, and at that moment I knew that was what I wanted to do. Years later Jaret got me the gig as lead guitar player in The Erik Chandler (Bowling For Soup’s bassist) band. I stayed with Erik for a couple of years, then decided it was time for me to do my own thing, and that’s when Innocent Tyler was born.”
“I met Luis Cabezas when I was playing for Erik (I was already a huge Dollyrots fan) and we really clicked. It was one of those times you know something great was going to emerge. So a couple of years later I texted Luis and asked if he wanted to produce my new EP. I sent him some demos and the next thing I knew I was on a plane to Tampa, FL to record at The Dollyrots’ studio. We laid down the tracks before sending off to John Fields for mixing. Everything wrapped up and it was time to shoot a video for the single, so I asked Jaret to direct the video. The entire time, even though we are really good friends now, I was still freaking out that Jaret freaking Reddick was directing my music video.“
“I will never forget the first time I met Vincent. His eyes were huge and he didn’t say much. But you could tell he was taking it all in. I saw him many times throughout the years. His dad brought him to shows every time we were close. You could always see that fire in his eyes. The first time I heard him play guitar, we were in the studio recording a BFS album. I had him play a guitar part on a song and he nailed it! When I heard the album he recorded with Luis I was like, “Who is this kid?!?!?!” There is such a raw, organic energy to the songs. I was blown away that these were his first songs ever to record. I can’t wait to see what this “kid” from Arkansas does! Watch out music fans! HE is comin'!!!” – Jaret Reddick (Bowling For Soup)
Make A Scene is out now on Arrested Youth records and is available on all digital services (ITunes, Spotify ect.). The singles “Bree” and “Guess I’m Not Over You” have received repeat airplay on Rodney Bingenheimer’s show on Sirius/XM’s Underground Garage, and the band is currently writing new material while planning a string of US tour dates for late 2018.
