Some tell stories of a deranged lunatic punk rocker, who after he rebelled against every thing he could in society, rebelled against his own damn nature. They say, that one day he climbed atop an ornery looking one-eyed steed, with lasso in hand and spurs on his boots, he rode off into the sunset like in some dern gritty western film. Others tell a story of a pack of wild-eyed brutes from the north woods of Minnesota, with fire in their souls and Pabst in their bellies. These fellas formed an unholy union of Punk Rock, Country Western and Rockabilly music ready to churn yer guts. They liked to call themselves Urges From Elsewhere. Like a banshee wailing across a pale ghostly plane, their dusty and angst ridden tones would make any boot stomping hooligan rise up out of their chair and howl at the moon. As their influence grows like vines twisting across a tombstone, their dedication has led them to surpass the common rabble. They wield their instruments much like that of an old gunfighter who has taken to drink, but has never lost sight of his target. As they progress, they age like a fine whiskey, becoming increasingly smooth, yet with enough kick to knock you square on your ass. There was a time, when greats like Johnny Cash and Joey Ramone would cross eyes and rumble until daybreak. But now, Urges From Elsewhere embodies a booze fueled mayhem for all who can raise a glass and unite under a banner as old as rebels and Rock n’ Roll itself.
